Chemical Dependency Counseling
Understanding the reasons behind addiction - and building a path forward.
Chemical Dependency Counseling is a core part of the integrated treatment program at Northwest Integrated Health (NWIH). Our licensed Chemical Dependency Professionals (CDPs) work with patients individually and in groups to examine the causes and patterns of addiction, and to develop a treatment plan built around each person's specific needs and goals.
Every patient begins with an ASAM evaluation - a standardized assessment that determines the appropriate level of care. From there, your counselor helps you build an Individual Service Plan (ISP) with concrete recovery goals, identifies barriers, and coordinates with the rest of your care team, including medical providers and mental health counselors.
Counseling sessions address compliance with your treatment plan, emotional patterns, life skills, and long-term recovery planning. Your counselor also connects you to community resources, responds to crises, and advocates on your behalf when needed. The goal is not simply staying clean - it is helping you build a life that makes recovery sustainable.
