Peer Counseling
Support from someone who has been where you are.
Peer Counseling at Northwest Integrated Health (NWIH) connects patients with trained peer specialists - people who have their own lived experience with Substance Use Disorder and recovery. Peer counselors are not clinical providers. They are a different kind of support: someone who understands what you're going through because they have lived it.
Peer counselors help patients navigate the social and emotional dimensions of recovery. They can help you reconnect with your sense of purpose, work through isolation, and stay engaged with your treatment. They are also a bridge between clinical care and daily life - translating medical language, helping you prepare for appointments, and reminding you that recovery is possible because they are living proof of it.
When substance use has caused distance from the people who matter to you, peer counselors walk alongside you as you rebuild. You are not alone in this.
